Wow, what a trip!  I’ve thought about one of my granddaughter’s favorite books, Where The Wild Things Are, many times this week.  I’m now resting in the shade in the village of Cola de Cajon.  Our team has just finished up over thirty hours of hiking in the remote Honduran jungles.  This hiking, along with ten hours in four-wheel drive trucks and eight hours in dugout canoes, was necessary for our Extreme Missionary Adventures team to reach the villages where we conducted the first tests of TribalConnection, a live two way video link between needy people in isolated locations and people in the United States willing to help meet these needs.

The EXPLORER 100 weighs only 2.2 lbs and is the smallest BGAN terminal available.  It is roughly half the size of a typical notebook computer.   Outfitter Satellite sells and rents this terminal to customers needing simple email or web access with an absolute minimum of weight and size.  It is ideal for customers hiking into remote locations on foot.  It is also ideal for global travelers.   Customers needing extremely high speed internet access or video communications should consider a class I terminal such as the HNS-9201. 

  • INTERNET ACCESS:  Any computer equipped with a USB port or a Bluetooth wireless capability can be used with the EXPLORER 100 to achieve internet speeds up to 384 kbps. 
  • VOICE CALLING:  Self-explanatory indicators make the EXPLORER 100 easy to operate.   An optional ISDN handset is our recommended product if you wish to make voice calls or use short messaging (texting).    An optional Bluetooth wireless handset is available. 
  • INSIDE USE:  Want to use the EXPLORER 100 inside your building?  No problem.  The "antenna unit" can be detached in seconds and remoted up to 20 meters from the "interface unit" (optional 10 or 20 meter antenna cable required).  If you need to connect standard phone equipment inside your building, an optional adapter is available.
