NOTICE OF CHANGE IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS: We are transitioning Scratch & Web Accounts to the new Universal Card Account system. The new Universal Card system works in a manner very similar to the old Scratch & Web system and will continue to provide prepaid standard IP data for BGAN terminals, but the Universal Card Account will also offer new capabilities including the ability to use your Universal Card Account for prepaid voice and standard IP data on properly configured Inmarsat BGAN, Inmarsat FleetBroadband, Inmarsat SwiftBroadband, Thuraya IP, and Iridium satellite phones and terminals. If you had an existing unexpired balance on your old Scratch & Web account, your account will be assigned a number of "units" equal to the original unexpired balance of BGAN MegaBytes (MB) on your old Scratch & Web account.
The Universal Card system is a "unit-based" system that has different units-per-MB or units-per-minute parameters for usage on the various types of satellite networks. So, going forward, a prepaid BGAN MB will use up 137.9310345 "units" from your Universal Card account. A prepaid voice-to-PSTN minute will use up 30 units on your Universal Card account. If you have a plan that allows postpaid voice calls, you will still be able to make postpaid voice calls as before. However, you will also be able to make prepaid voice calls against your Universal Card Account by dialing a special short code and entering your Universal Card Account number. Be advised the postpaid and prepaid voice calling rates are not the same and certain types of prepaid voice calls are not allowed.
