1. What networks support the Thuraya XT?
The Thuraya can be used on the Thuraya network which provides coverage in over 140 countries (see question 4). The XT does not support GSM mode.

2. How is the Thuraya XT different from other satellite phones?
  The XT is a rugged, durable phone which has a high resistance to shock and vibration. It is highly resistant to dust and water intrusion.
The small size and excellent size to weight ratio make the XT easy to handle.
The XT has a user friendly menu with many features including a personal organizer with a calendar and alarm function, as well as a GPS navigation function.

3. How does the size and weight of the Thuraya XT compare to other satellite phones?
The XT is one of the smallest and lightest phones on the market. It is 5.1 in. X 2.1 in. X 1 in. (128mm X 53 mm X 26.5 mm) (H x W x D) and weighs 6.8 oz. (193 gm).

4. Where can I use the Thuraya XT?

5. Can I use my existing SIM card with the Thuraya XT?
Existing Thuraya phone SIMs can be used with the Thuraya XT.

6. Can I use Thuraya scratch cards with the Thuraya XT?
Yes, all available Thuraya scratch cards can be used to recharge the XT.

7. What is the talk time and standby time for the Thuraya XT battery?
The Thuraya XT heavy duty battery allows up to 6 hours talk time and up to 80 hours standby time.

8. Is the Thuraya XT display easy to read outdoors, in the sunlight?
The large (2 in. (5 cm)) display is glare resistant and has a brightness sensor to control the back-lighting based on the ambient light present.

9. Does the Thuraya XT have a GPS function?
The XT phone includes a GPS function with way-point navigation allowing you to create and manage way-points along your route. You can also use location tracking by automatically saving your location at fixed intervals which allows you to create a track of your route.

10. What interfaces does the Thuraya XT have?
The Thuraya XT has the following interfaces: USB to Thuraya proprietary, Ear-piece (std 2.5 mm audio jack), DC power, external antenna.

11. Can I use the Thuraya XT to access the internet?
The XT can be connected to your PC using the USB cable. Users can access the internet using GmPRS (optional service).

12. What computer operating systems are compatible with the Thuraya XT?
The XT is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows XP.
