WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A THURAYA PHONE?
The Thuraya XT satellite phone offers satellite-based voice, SMS short messaging, and data services, depending on the service plan selected. Data options include 9600 bps data and GmPRS "always on" data up with up to 60 kbps download capability. The Thuraya coverage area includes over 140 countries including much of Europe, northern, central and western Africa, the Middle East, central and southeastern Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Japan, and Australia.

COMPARE THE THURAYA XT AND ISATPHONE PRO:
The two satellite phones both have very large coverage areas. The customer must review the coverage maps carefully. Both phones use geosynchronous satellites which means that if you are calling from a location where the satellite can be seen, both phones typically can make long-duration calls. Both phones have excellent battery life. The Thuraya XT offers 6 hours of talk time on a single charge. The IsatPhone PRO offers 8 hours of talk time. The Thuraya XT (6.8 oz) is smaller and lighter than the IsatPhone PRO (9.8 oz) and offers much faster data speed options than the IsatPhone PRO.
