1. How do I make calls with my Globalstar phone?
Since the 254 part of your Globalstar phone number is a U.S. area code, calls from within the U.S. to a Globalstar phone are not international calls. From the U.S., simply dial 1 + 254 + the 7-digit number of your Globalstar phone.
The Globalstar phone will not ring or detect an incoming call unless the antenna is rotated upwards and in clear view of the sky. To accept an incoming call on your Globalstar phone, simply press, “send”.
2. How do I use the Globalstar voice mail?
Either hold the envelope key, or call the Globalstar rental number from the phone or any touch-tone phone. (The number is also saved in your phone book as #2.)
Press 1 when you hear the greeting.
Enter the password. (Default is 12345)
3. How do I access my voice mail to leave messages?
For someone to leave you a message they would need to call the number of the phone. If the call is not answered the call will be sent to the voice mailbox where they can leave you a message.
4. How do I retrieve a message?
Either hold the envelope key, or call the Globalstar rental number from the phone or any touch- tone phone. (The number is also saved in your phone book as #2.)
Press 1 when you hear the greeting.
Enter the password. (Default is 12345)

5. Can I force registering the phone on the network?
Press Menu, then press the number 8 on the keypad. Next you will need to press the number 2 for Find Home option. This will register the phone on the network.
6. How come I get disconnected while in the middle of a call?
For the phone to be able to connect to the network the antenna on the phone should have a clear line of sight with the sky. This would mean that you couldn’t have obstacles in the way that could be blocking the signal to the satellite. For example, trees, buildings, ceiling of a sunroom, and large glass windows have a UV coating that blocks the signal of the satellite.
7. What is voice mail password?
If you were not sent the password for the Voicemail please call Outfitter Satellite and we will be more than happy to give you the password for the voicemail. With your phone there should been a help sheet with the phone in a clear plastic bag. You can find the voicemail password on that Help sheet under “Accessing Voicemail Service”.
8. Why can’t I dial a US number from the phone?
From the U.S., simply dial 1 + 254 + the 7-digit number of your Globalstar phone. The Globalstar phone will not ring or detect an incoming call unless the antenna is rotated upwards and in clear view of the sky. To accept an incoming call on your Globalstar phone, simply press, “send”.
9. Why can’t I get a signal in my office?
The Globalstar phone is designed to be used outdoors. Many offices that have large glass windows are not suitable for making a connection to the network. The glass in offices and homes has a UV protection that blocks the signal to and from the phone.
10. Why wouldn’t the phone charge?
If the phone is a rental you should receive the phone with a battery that is fully charged. If you do receive a battery that needs to be charged there should be an AC charger that you can use that came with the phone. The AC charger will connect to the bottom of the phone and should lock into place. When the phone is charging the screen will show “Battery Charging”.
11. The phone says “rotate antenna” and I have the antenna up?
There are two antennas on the Globalstar phone. The antenna that is on the top of the phone is the cellar antenna that has no function in making a satellite call. On the back of the phone there is another antenna that has an orange dot on the bottom. This is the antenna that needs to be rotated in order to receive or place calls. The antenna will lock into place when it is put in the correct position.
